Get to know your hair (pay attention to what products work and what
doesn’t, how often you cleanse and moisturize, style manipulation, heat
and chemical damage, etc.)
Try to refrain from using direct heat, such as flat irons, curling irons, hairdryer
with attachments. Indirect heat is perfectly fine, such as hooded hair
dryers, steamers, handheld dryer without an attachment.
The key to healthy growing hair is consistent moisturizing, especially fornaturals. Water, water-based products, conditioners, and proteintreatments are very vital.
Make sure you are clipping ends at least every 8 to 12 weeks. This time can vary.
All hair is different. Different hair types, porosity levels, etc. Everythingdoesn’t work the same for every hair type.
It is very important to have a hair routine. A regular wash day, where youdo a deep conditioner, hot oil treatment, or hair mask. Also, prior tostyling, do the L.O.C. (liquid, oil, cream) or L.C.O. (Liquid, Cream, Oil)Method. I will give you more tips on this.
There are some things that can be done to provide extra moisture, such as:steaming after conditioning, pre-poo, etc.
I highly recommend sleeping in a silk or satin scarf or using a satinpillowcase.
Low manipulation styles are great. Because the less time you are spendingcombing, pulling, tugging on your hair, the less your hair will frizz and bedamaged.
Use penetrating oils, such as: Coconut oil, olive oil, Shea butter, castor oil,avocado oil. If your hair doesn’t respond well to heavier oils, use a lighteroil like Grapeseed oil, Almond oil, or Jojoba oil.
Multivitamins or Biotin is a great source of nutrients that your hair needs. Drinking more water will hydrate hair from the inside out. What we put inour bodies internally will cause external reactions.
